About this villa

Hale Mahina is a beautiful 4 bedroom, 3.5 bathroom home located in a private, very quiet neighborhood in the hills of Pupukea, on Oahu's North Shore. Enjoy panoramic ocean views while still being within minutes of first-rate beaches and other activities.

The grounds of this O’ahu home are covered with lush, tropical landscaping. The covered front lanai’s outdoor furniture and comfortable lounge chairs are an ideal spot to gaze out at the ocean. A private nook on the side of the home houses a Jacuzzi tub, the perfect place to watch the sky transform from blue to gorgeous reds, oranges, and purples as the sun sets. A custom outdoor shower is provided to rinse the sand and salt off after a long beach day, and a gas grill is available should you choose to have an outdoor BBQ.

Modern front entry doors lead you into the foyer of Hale Mahina, adjacent to the kitchen with its large breakfast bar that seats four. Custom gray cabinets add warmth to the white countertops and cabinets of the island. A gas stovetop, stainless steel appliances, as well as cookware and utensils ensure you have everything you need for a quick and easy breakfast, or a dinner feast. Three lovely glass pendants, recessed lighting, and sliding glass doors with garden views provide plenty of light when you’re ready to prepare a meal. There is a half bath for guests, conveniently located off the kitchen. The kitchen flows into the living room, which boasts a plush, oversized sectional, modern coffee table, and a large flat screen Smart TV, allowing you to log into streaming services and enjoy family movie nights together. This property does not have air conditioning however it does have ceiling fans to keep the Hawai’ian trade winds blowing. Windows dot the walls at the top of the room, letting in an abundance of natural light. As you move into the dining room, its custom table and chairs are only outshined by the astonishing ocean views that lay beyond the massive sliding glass doors adjoining the space to the front lanai.

The spacious master suite includes a King-size bed, charming wood furniture, a flat screen Smart TV, and glass sliders with outdoor access. It’s spa-like bathroom has a dual vanity, a custom walk-in shower, and a large soaking tub with views of the greenery through the large window. The tastefully decorated second and third bedrooms both have Queen-size beds, sliding glass doors providing access to the outdoors and displaying lovely garden views, and elegant full-size bathrooms with walk-in showers. Perfect for kids or teens, the fourth bedroom contains two Queen-size beds and large dressers. Please note that each room has ceiling fans, however does not have air conditioning.

While the view of the ocean from Hale Mahina is grand, you’ll want to experience it first-hand. This property is conveniently located a mere five minutes to the closest beach by car. You’re also near many world-famous surfing spots, including Waimea Bay, Sunset Beach, and Pipeline. If you have little ones, Shark’s Cove has wonderful tidepools so they can check out the diverse marine life. For a unique experience, head into Waimea Valley, where you’ll learn about Hawaiian culture and plants as you hike along a paved path. At the end of the hike lies Waihi Falls, a beautiful 45 foot waterfall which feeds into a freshwater pool in which you can swim. Don’t miss Ted’s Bakery, where you’ll find the best chocolate haupia pie on the island, or try one of their many other delicious flavors.

This accommodation allows you to peacefully start your day in the Pupukea Hills, but is still in the heart of the North Shore of Oahu and all of the excitement it has to offer. Hale Mahina’s location and outstanding ocean views simply can’t be beat.

The property will be made exclusively available to the renter for a full period of 30-days and no one else may occupy the property during that period. Rates based on a 30-day rental period. Please inquire.

From the airport: Follow signs for Interstate H-1W and follow the signs to Aiea/Pearl City. Keep right at the fork and continue on to Interstate H-2 N and follow the signs to Mililani/Wahiawa. Take exit 8 toward Wahiawa. Continue straight onto HI-99 N, then continue on to HI-83 E. Drive past Waimea Bay and turn right on Pupukea Road, just before Foodland Grocery store. Follow Pupukea Road up and take the first left on to Alapio Road. Follow the road and drive into "Sunset Hills". The house will be on the right. Please remember to drive very slowly through the neighborhood as there are many children at play, people walking, and bicycle riders who use the road for recreation.
House Rules
HOUSE RULES: 1. No smoking (including e-cigarettes) or drugs of any kind anywhere on the property. No pets are allowed on the property. 2. QUIET TIMES are 8:00 pm to 8:00 am. Parties or large gatherings are not allowed. Please keep noise in outside areas to a minimum. Noise violations by law enforcement are grounds for immediate termination of your lease. 3. REMOVE SHOES and RINSE OFF SAND before entering the jacuzzi or home. You will be charged for damage caused by sand left in the jacuzzi. 4. By using the jacuzzi you as the guest are agreeing to the posted rules provided. It runs 24 hours a day. Keep Jacuzzi covered and turned to (80 degrees) or a lower temperature when not in use. Please read and refer to terms and conditions in your Elite Pacific LLC contract. Guests shall use the pool or spa at their own risk. Guests shall not permit use of the pool or spa by unsupervised children or other guests. 5. Keep the front door (wooden double doors) closed. (If the wind blows, it slams and could break, rendering it inoperable.) Keeping the sliding doors open will help tradewinds flow through the house. 6. DO NOT FLUSH Tampons, pads, or wipes of any kind down the toilet. It will back up the plumbing. 7. DO NOT take bath towels outside. Use colored towels for the beach. Shake sand from clothing before putting them into the washer or dryer. You will be charged for damage caused by excess sand in the machine. 8. We do use professional pest control, however keeping the countertops tidy and keeping loose food items in the fridge will help keep most of them at bay. 9. Please do NOT enter the upper plateau/yard behind the home. This area and all things in it are strictly OFF limits. The groundskeeper comes once a week and uses that area. He will service the jacuzzi at that time. 10. Please drive carefully through the neighborhood as many young children play on the street. CONDITION OF PREMISES: This property is privately owned. Should any major equipment or appliance require attention, we will work to fix all issues as soon as possible during normal business hours, however, we cannot issue refunds or price adjustments. Please report all minor maintenance problems to your on-island property manager. INVENTORY: All contents in the house, including books, CDs and DVDs, are provided for your use and enjoyment during your stay. In order to ensure this home is in the best possible condition for every guest, a full inventory will be taken. Please let us know ahead of time if something is lost, broken, or in need of repair. HOUSEHOLD SUPPLIES: Soaps, cleaning supplies, paper goods, and other necessities have been provided for your use. While we have stocked the house with these essentials, if you do happen to run out of anything during your stay, we kindly ask that you purchase more. CONSERVE ELECTRICITY: Utility costs are extremely high in Hawaii. Please help conserve electricity by shutting off unused appliances, fans, lights, etc. If the AC is on, please close the windows and doors, and shut off the air when you leave. We ask that you would not change any setting in the freezer or the refrigerator. Please note, energy caps may apply to your stay. FURNITURE: In order to avoid damaging the floors, we ask that you do not move the furniture around. Also, please use caution when eating or drinking near any furniture, upholstery, or bedding. Additionally, we ask that you would not place wet towels, clothes, or bathing suits on the furniture or balcony and/or lanai rails. Also, interior furniture is to be used inside. When moving dining chairs or bar stools, please be careful to avoid floor damage. Use lanai furniture on lanai only and leave all interior furniture inside. SAND: Sand is extremely sticky! In order to avoid tracking in unwanted sand, please shake out all of your towels and sandy clothes before coming back inside. BEACH TOWELS: Beach towels have been provided for your enjoyment. Please do not use bath towels for the beach. Remember to shake off excess sand before bringing beach towels back inside. Please make sure they are free of sand before placing them inside the washing machine. BEACH EQUIPMENT: Please rinse and return all equipment after each use. WASHER AND DRYER: In order to avoid unnecessary repairs, we ask that you please use care when washing your clothes. Never put sandy towels or shoes in the machines, as doing so could result in damage. Please make sure the lint trap is cleaned after each dry cycle. We kindly ask that you change your wet and/or sandy clothes before sitting on bedding or furniture. In order to avoid mildew, we ask that you would not place wet towels on furniture and bedding. MAID SERVICES: Maid service is not provided with your rental unless specified in your agreement. Should you wish to schedule maid service, you may contact your property manager. SPILLS: We know that spills on sofas, pillows, and linens are inevitable. If you or one of your guests spill something please clean it up immediately to avoid stains. YOUR SAFETY AND SECURITY: To ensure your safety, we ask you to please lock all doors and windows when you’re away, as well as before you go to sleep at night. Be sure to bring all personal belongings inside with you every night. OCEAN: We care about your safety! Please remember that the ocean has a strong current and an unpredictable surf and current. Please check with lifeguards before entering the ocean. Swimming at night is especially dangerous and should not be done by anyone. PARKING: In order to show consideration to the neighbors, we ask that you park in assigned, designated parking areas. Additionally, we ask that you do not block driveways, sidewalks or mailboxes. PARTIES/EVENTS: This home is for residential vacation use only. Therefore, parties, receptions, luaus, events and gatherings of any kind are strictly prohibited. TROPICAL PESTS: This home is regularly treated for pests. In the tropics, however, they can’t always be eliminated. To help keep these unwanted visitors at bay, please keep food in air-tight containers, dispose of food scraps in Ziploc or tied plastic bags, and do not leave dirty dishes out for extended periods. Special care should also be taken to dispose of soiled diapers in airtight Ziplocs or bags. While most of the pests are harmless, you should always avoid contact with centipedes, which can have a nasty sting.

Check in anytime after 3:00 pm. Please contact the property manager, Jennifer Williams (808)779-8180, upon arrival at the airport to confirm check in procedures for accessing the home. Enter through the 2nd gate using the given code. Park anywhere inside the property. To close the gate (and to exit), enter the code on the keypad located inside the house near the breadbox. A key for use during your stay will be left under the front door mat.

Cancellation Policy
If Cancellation notice is received more than forty five days (46+) prior to the check-in date, a cancellation fee equal to 10% of the Reservation Grand Total will be forfeited and the balance will be refunded.If Cancellation notice is received between 45-31 days prior to the check-in date, a cancellation fee equal to 50% of the Reservation Grand Total will be forfeited and the balance will be refunded.If Cancellation notice is received within 30 days (0-30) of the check-in date, the full booking amount of rent and taxes will be forfeited. The Security Deposit and any pre-collected cleaning fees will be refunded. As courtesy to our Guest, if Agent is able to rebook any portion of the canceled reservation, Guest will be refunded to the extent that Agent is able to re-book the Property. Refunds will be issued within 7 days from receipt of written cancellation to the payment method used in the initial deposit. Credit card fees and travel insurance are non-refundable.
